Leeds United fans will miss the presence of Josuha Guilavogui, and it seems like the players will as well.

Guilavogui was a welcome signing at Leeds, as although he didn’t have the best impact on the pitch, he was a revelation off it.

It can be argued that the 34-year-old’s free transfer was the most important piece of business last season, as Guilavogui was a key dressing room presence.

His off-field antics boosted morale, and Guilavogui even offered advice to Wilfried Gnonto, as he was a great role model for the younger players.

Despite his tenure now at an end, the Frenchman still seems to be playing his part, but this time in the transfer window.

He will be missed around the club, but it was also clear he couldn’t stick around due to a lack of impact on the pitch.

Despite his brilliant character, Guilavogui played just 18 times in a Leeds shirt, and although you might think this is a decent amount, Guilavogui came off the bench in most of these encounters and only amassed 216 minutes.

Guilavogui still broke records at Leeds, as in his first eight outings, Leeds won every one, which hasn’t been done before.

Now, as he embarks on a new chapter, Guilavogui is playing agent for Leeds, as the Frenchman sent a shirt to Wolfsburg central midfielder Yannick Gerhardt, as seen on his Instagram story.

Although Gerhardt isn’t a target, the 31-year-old will no doubt be known by Daniel Farke due to his time in Germany, and he would actually make for an incredible signing.

Yannick Gerhardt would be the perfect signing for Farke at Leeds

Not many fans would have heard of the Wolfsburg utility man, but the 31-year-old comes with a set of skills that would be useful to the Whites.

Guilavogui would have known the German from his time at Wolfsburg of course, as Gerhardt has spent the last nine seasons with the Wolves.

He’s seen as a leader in the dressing room like Guilavogui, and Farke will likely know of his expertise, especially with Farke looking at Bundesliga signings this summer.

At 31, he wouldn’t be a statement signing for Leeds, but his experience speaks volumes in Germany, and he could fill the void of Guilavogui’s position.

Wolfsburg managing director Marcel Schäfer is a big fan of Gerhardt, who has been so loyal to Wolfsburg.

“Yannick is not only synonymous with passion and reliability on the pitch, he also embodies the club’s values off the pitch in an impressive way and fully identifies with our path,” Schafer said to Wolfsburg’s website in March 2024.

His tools of experience and commitment would be needed in the Premier League, but Gerhardt is also known to be a threat from midfield, showing he’s the perfect all-rounder.

Adding to this, Gerhardt would fit into the Leeds dressing room instantly after his time at Wolfsburg with Sebastiaan Bornauw, who signed for the Whites this summer, as Guilavogui endorsed Bornauw’s move as well.

Overall, Guilavogui might have just given a hint to the midfielder, who would no doubt be a great addition to Farke’s regime.
