Brenden Aaronson is the final Leeds United player in action over this October international break.
Aaronson is one of six members of Daniel Farke’s squad representing their respective countries today, although the time difference to Mexico means his game for the USA does not actually get underway until 3.30am BST.
As such, Aaronson effectively has just 62 hours from the end of the match to kick-off of Leeds‘ clash with Sheffield United on Friday night to fly home, recover and be ready.
Particularly from the start, that very much puts Aaronson’s availability into doubt, which would be a huge blow for arguably the biggest game of the season yet.
Farke was disappointed at Leeds not signing another number 10 in the summer as Aaronson is the only out-and-out option in the entire squad.

Farke’s obvious solution to Aaronson problem at Leeds
Regardless of how many minutes Aaronson plays for USA, it is going to be a difficult ask for him to start against the Blades.
However, if Leeds can get at least half-an-hour out of him from the bench, then Farke could look to find a creative solution to his Aaronson problem.
The most obvious one is, of course, Joel Piroe. However, time and time again he has shown he does not work in that deeper role. The last time he started there was at West Brom, and he really struggled.
Against a midfield like Sheffield United’s, Leeds cannot afford to be carrying any passengers in or out of possession, and despite his excellent goal record, Piroe could quite easily become one.
With that in mind, Farke’s best solution could come down to the fitness of either Manor Solomon and Dan James, who have both been out injured for several weeks.
Farke is hopeful both Solomon and James will be fit to face the Blades, and although they may be lacking match sharpness, one could be needed from the start.
If they can get through the best part of an hour, that would then allow Aaronson to come off the bench and at least play some sort of role in the game.
Solomon or James‘ introduction to the team would then see Wilfried Gnonto move into a more central role, something which he has shown he can thrive in on more than one occasion this season.
Largie Ramazani, Gnonto, and two from Solomon, James, Piroe and Mateo Joseph could make for a very exciting front four which has the potential to hurt Sheffield United’s impressive defensive record.

What Farke said about Solomon and James fitness
As mentioned, Farke suggested after Leeds’ draw at Sunderland a couple of weeks ago that both Solomon and James could return.
While the rest of Leeds’ non-internationals were given the full week off after Sunderland, Solomon and James were among those at Thorp Arch continuing their rehab.
Here is exactly what Farke had to say about the two Leeds wingers’ recovery: “Solomon and James will hopefully come back. Hoping Wober will be back soon. Will last a bit.”
