Davide Ancelotti is a football coach being linked as a replacement for Daniel Farke at Leeds United.

Daniel Farke may have guided Leeds United back to the Premier League in stunning style but that doesn’t mean his job at Elland Road is safe.

The return to the top flight was only just confirmed when doubt over Farke’s ability to keep Leeds in the top flight first sprouted.

It then emerged that Leeds were ‘considering’ sacking Farke ahead of the new season and the 49ers are yet to publicly back their manager.

Davide Ancelotti is one of the men who has emerged as a possible replacement and here is everything you need to know about him.

Is Carlo Ancelotti Davide Ancelotti’s dad?

Yes, Davide is the son of Carlo Ancelotti and his ex-wife, Luisa Gibellini. The pair also have a daughter together.

Who is Davide Ancelotti?

Davide Ancelotti is a football coach yet to manage his own team but appears eager to make that big step in his career.

As the son of legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti, Davide has benefited immensely from being a member of his father’s coaching staff at every club he has worked at since 2012.

After earning a degree in sports science at 22, Ancelotti’s first role was as fitness coach at Paris Saint-Germain and then he served as assistant to Real Madrid’s fitness coach when his father headed to Spain.

Davide earned his UEFA A license in 2016, which then allowed him to step up to the assistant manager role to his dad. Davide has been Carlo’s assistant manager since 2016 at Bayern Munich and has also fulfilled the position at Napoli, Everton – alongside Duncan Ferguson – and now Real Madrid.

It has still not been confirmed whether or not Farke will guide Leeds into the new Premier League season or not.

With so much uncertainty, a report in The Guardian named Ancelotti – along with Roger Schmidt and Giovanni van Bronckhorst – among three possible replacements for Farke if Leeds do sack the German.

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season and become manager of Brazil, giving Davide the chance to step out of his father’s shadow and take on his first managerial job.

Was Davide Ancelotti a footballer?

Yes, Ancelotti started his life in football as a player but his career did not last long.

Ancelotti followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the AC Milan academy as a youngster and also played as a midfielder. He failed to break into the first team at the San Siro and was transferred to Borgomanero.

However, he decided to retire from playing at the age of just 20 to pursue coaching instead.

When and where was Davide Ancelotti born?

Ancelotti was born in Parma, Italy, on July 22 1989. As of May 2025, he is 35 years old.
