‘There is no temptation’… Daniel Farke makes interesting claim about Leeds’ January plans

Daniel Farke is adamant Leeds United will be able to keep hold of their key players in the January transfer window.

Leeds continued their momentum in the hunt for an automatic promotion spot with a 2-0 away win at Blackburn Rovers, which was their third consecutive Championship victory.

Dan James and Crysencio Summerville were on the scoresheet in either half at Ewood Park, as they continued their fine individual seasons to move onto seven and nine goals apiece respectively.

Farke was asked about how confident he is keeping players of this importance ahead of the window opening in a few weeks time, and was pretty firm with his response.

He said: “Don’t have to talk about this with the board because we all know we are ambitious and there is no temptation to give our key players to other clubs. Everyone aware of this and we do not need to discuss it.”

Leeds must keep hold of Summerville and co

David Prutton this morning sent a warning to Leeds ahead of January regarding their key players, but Farke’s comments should hopefully ease any worries fans may have.

From Leeds’ squad, the most likely to be attracting any interest is most definitely Summerville, who has been on fire this season with nine goals and six assists already.

Leeds actually turned down an offer of £20 million from Burnley late on in the summer and given his performances since then, interest is only going to increase. That said, so is the price.

Fabrizio Romano has already reported that Premier League clubs have been monitoring his progress, while Sky Sports pundit Tom Cairney thinks Leeds may also find it tough to keep hold of him.

However, with the position Leeds are likely to be in, they simply cannot afford to let any of their key players depart regardless of the offers they receive, if they have genuine ambition of achieving promotion.
