Bologna have reportedly set their sights on signing Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville.
That is according to Calcio Mercato, who report the Serie A club are now keen on signing the 21-year-old who Micah Richards last season described as ‘brilliant’ while on punditry duty for Sky Sports.
Summerville is among those expected to depart Elland Road this summer following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship, though interested clubs have so far been few and far between.
His former club Feyenoord have been linked, but reportedly have doubts on bringing him back to the club, while Everton are yet to firm up their initial interest.
Leeds could command a fee of around £12 million for Summerville this summer after a breakthrough campaign in the Premier League last season.
Bologna keen on signing Leeds’ Summerville
Summerville made his return to pre-season training at Leeds this week alongside fellow U21 internationals Willy Gnonto, Illan Meslier and Charlie Cresswell.
He and Meslier are said to have particularly impressed Daniel Farke during their first few days back, but could still move on this summer.
Gnonto, Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra are among the players San Francisco 49ers Enterprises are desperate to keep, meaning Summerville could well move on with Dan James and Georginio Rutter also wide options.
Summerville will no doubt have his eyes set on being in Netherlands’ senior squad for the EUROs next summer, which will be difficult if he is in the Championship.
However, if Bologna are to firm up their interest, surely there will be question marks as to whether it is much of a step up from Leeds.
