Daniel Farke can now deem his first two seasons at Leeds a success after promotion but now he needs to take his fortunes to the next level.
Marcelo Bielsa will be a tough manager to emulate in terms of his status around the club, as Leeds fans worship the Argentine.
He’s easily been the most successful manager in recent times after guiding the Whites back to the Premier League, but if Farke can keep his side up and end the trend of newly promoted teams getting relegated, this will give him some credibility.
Farke beat Bielsa to 50 Championship wins, proving he’s a much better second-tier manager.
But it’s the big time where he needs to prove his worth, and now Stuart Dallas has weighed in on who has been better.

Stuart Dallas on Daniel Farke and Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United
It’s a debate which some fans might not agree with just yet as Farke is a long stretch away from Bielsa’s legacy.
When it’s apparent that Bielsa galvanised Leeds, that sums up the level Farke has to achieve, but he has to be given the chance.
That rests on the 49ers who will make a decision on Farke’s future very soon, but what Dallas has said in a comparison with Bielsa speaks volumes to what the ownership need to do.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Leeds’ 4-0 win vs Bristol City, Dallas didn’t see a comparison just yet but praised Farke.
“Let’s stop comparing Farke and Bielsa,” Dallas said.
“We know Marcelo will always be a god in Leeds, but Daniel has done his own rebuild and is about to reach 100 points.
“He deserves huge credit.”
If Farke keeps Leeds up in the Premier League let the comparisons start
The only thing going the way of Farke is the change in competitiveness in the top flight since Bielsa left.
Of course, the Argentine did a brilliant job, but the league has changed from when he was in charge, and Farke has a much harder task ahead of him.
Even after the newly promoted clubs spent a lot, it still wasn’t enough, so if Farke achieves safety, then comparisons can start to appear no doubt.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 18 | 34 | 4 | 9 | 21 | 33 | 74 | -41 | 21 | |
| 19 | 34 | 4 | 6 | 24 | 27 | 76 | -49 | 18 | |
| 20 | 34 | 2 | 5 | 27 | 25 | 80 | -55 | 11 |
The Whites boss will need to be backed by recruitment, and if Leeds can become a top-eight Premier League team, Farke might top Bielsa.
Of course, this is an extremely big ask, but if done, a new man might be crowned as the ‘god’ of Leeds.
