Five Premier League defeats in six games, with Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool up next, has Daniel Farke under intense scrutiny from Leeds United fans and possibly even the Elland Road board.
Leeds have slipped into the relegation zone after Sunday’s defeat to Aston Villa, with the Whites unable to hold onto an early lead for a second game in a row. They also scored first against Nottingham Forest.
The pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke… should Leeds United sack him?⌛
The pressure has been mounting on Daniel Farke. LeedsUnited.News understands the 49ers are assessing his position as manager, and while they won’t make a knee-jerk decision, they know fans are restless.
Indeed, fans sang “you don’t know what you’re doing” at full-time on Sunday after Morgan Rogers’ brace cancelled out Lukas Nmecha’s opener. Now, Sam Allardyce has had his say on Farke’s future at Leeds.

Sam Allardyce identifies key problem for Leeds boss Daniel Farke
On Tuesday night, there was plenty of speculation on social media suggesting Farke had been given the axe. But at the time of writing on Wednesday morning, nothing has been announced in regards to Farke.
Speaking on his No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, former Leeds boss Allardyce discussed Farke and his position as Leeds manager. He also identified the key problem Farke has, and that is a lack of goals.
“I watched it, they didn’t play bad,” Allardyce said, who was replaced by Farke in the summer of 2023. “So I think that the fear of Leeds going down again and recent results, has obviously put speculation on him.
“Sadly, there was speculation on his position when he got promoted. I can’t see any standout players. I can see a good team. Goals are going to be the problem again,” Allardyce continued, on Farke’s future.
Pundits and journalists pile the pressure on Daniel Farke…
The managers likely to be considered if Leeds do sack Farke
The obvious two are Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou, given they are the two most-recent bosses to lose their jobs and have Premier League experience. Leeds wanted Rodgers before hiring Farke in 2023.
Rodgers and Postecoglou have been touted as likely options, while Leeds have been keeping tabs on Carlos Corberan throughout Farke’s tenure. Corberan made his name at Leeds as manager of the 21s.
But aside from that, there haven’t been many reports actually suggesting the 49ers have a replacement lined up. Marco Rose, Bo Svensson and others have been thrown into the mix, but nothing is concrete.
For now, Farke looks as though he will take control of the side when Leeds go to Man City on Saturday. While a defeat is expected, if it is a drubbing – which is quite possible – the pressure will go up again.
