Daniel Farke and his Leeds United side are winning over a host of Premier League pundits after starting the season well on their return to the top flight.
Few pundits backed the newly-promoted sides to retain their place in the Premier League this season, as several predicted that Daniel Farke would be an early managerial casualty.
However, the tide of public opinion is beginning to turn in Farke’s favour, as Troy Deeney admitted he had won him over. Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville also praised Leeds after their 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.
Victory over Tottenham would lift Leeds up to 11 points from seven games and move Farke clear of Jesse Marsch’s points tally in the opening seven games of the 2022/23 season.
Now, former Premier League player Robbie Mustoe has praised Farke after his stronger-than-expected start to the season at Elland Road.

Premier League pundit Robbie Mustoe praises Daniel Farke
Speaking on the Two Robbies Podcast alongside former Wimbledon forward Robbie Earle, Mustoe praised Farke for Leeds’ strong start to the season.
According to Mustoe, Leeds fans can be excited for the club with the 49ers at the helm, promising to renovate Elland Road in the near future, which has become a fortress under Farke.
Mustoe said: “I like what Leeds have done. I do kind of like the manager, actually. I know he’s had a mixed… He’s had a difficult time keeping teams in the Premier League. I kind of like what he says.
“This is a blow, you know, to concede that goal late there and to concede two goals, because they’ve been defending them much better. And we always say this, I don’t care what these newly promoted teams do going forward, you’ve got to be strong at the back and not give away easy goals.
“I’ve got some good friends who are Leeds United fans, they’re really excited about what they’re going to do this year. The ownership is kind of clean now with those guys from the 49ers taking over and bringing a lot of their expertise into the football club.”

Leeds United manager is showing he is capable at the highest level
Heading into the new Premier League season, Farke faced questions over his ability to manage in the top flight, having failed to make an impression during his time with Norwich.
Although there were extenuating circumstances, as Norwich failed to back him in the transfer market, his Premier League record in East Anglia was not good.
| Year | Club | Played | Won | Win % |
| 2019/20 | Norwich | 38 | 6 | 15.8% |
| 2021/22 | Norwich | 11 | 1 | 9% |
| 2025/26 | Leeds | 6 | 2 | 33.3% |
According to the data from Transfermarkt, Farke won just six games from 49 in the top flight with the Canaries before departing midway through his second Premier League season with the club.
Having won two from his first six games in the top flight with Leeds, Farke already appears to be on course to better his previous attempts to avoid relegation at Elland Road.
