Everton manager Sean Dyche wants to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United on a permanent deal.
Harrison was one of eight senior members of last season’s first team squad to leave on loan in the summer, moving to Goodison Park on a straight loan deal in August.
Leeds had been hoping to keep Harrison throughout the summer but were unfortunately unable to do so, with Angus Kinnear having since spoken of the club’s frustration at his departure.
Despite reports that Everton have a £20 million option-to-buy Harrison, Leeds Live have since reported that this is wide of the mark, though Dyche is extremely keen on signing him permanently.
At the time of Harrison’s move, David Ornstein confirmed that Everton would look to sign Harrison in due course. With survival already looking likely despite a 10-point deduction, it would not be a surprise if they now pressed ahead with that.
Harrison permanent deal suits all parties
Harrison has been decent, if a little inconsistent during his time at Everton, with a couple of top performances mixed in with some equally poor ones.
That won’t come as much of a surprise to Leeds supporters as despite his impressive numbers in the Premier League, he was always liable to blow hot and cold.

With that in mind, a permanent deal is certainly what suits all parties regardless of whether Leeds get promoted back to the Premier League this season.
At this stage it is unclear what sort of fee Everton would have to pay to sign Harrison, but given that he only signed a new long-term deal at Elland Road in May, it should be considerably more than the £11 million it cost to bring him from Manchester City.
Thankfully Leeds are already well stocked for players in his position, while the possibility of Luis Sinisterra returning early from his loan has also been touted.
