Roy Keane has criticised Jack Harrison for a lack of quality after the Leeds United loanee squandered a brilliant chance for Everton in their Premier League clash on Sunday.
Keane was speaking on Super Sunday (broadcast on Sky Sports; 29/10; 13:57) at half-time of the Toffees’ trip to West Ham, with the game goalless at the break.
Leeds fans will not be entirely surprised to hear about Jack Harrison failing to produce a moment of quality at the vital moment. Of course, the winger enjoyed some great times at Elland Road, including in the Premier League – where he scored 21 goals.

However, he could definitely infuriate supporters. And Everton fans had reason to be frustrated with the wide-man during the first-half at the London Stadium.
Harrison capitalised on a mistake from Lucas Paqueta in the middle of the park. Suddenly, Sean Dyche’s side had three running at just Nayef Aguerd.
Harrison had an opportunity to pass to either Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Abdoulaye Doucoure. And had he found either, they would have had a clear strike at Alphonse Areola’s goal.
However, Harrison took too long to make a decision and ended up having a tame shot straight at Areola himself.
It was Everton’s best chance of the opening 45 minutes. And Roy Keane was critical of the 26-year-old for not making the most of the opportunity.
“Very, very simple. Obviously, poor from West Ham. Just reflects the game, lack of quality, decision-making, being decisive,” he told Sky Sports.
“It’s a great run. He’s just got to bide his time. Now, just give the pass and then he can square it for a tap-in. Lack of belief, lack of confidence, just a lack of quality. Just reflects on the game. It’s been a really poor game. But this is a great opportunity for Everton. And they’ve got to take these chances. Huge moment in the game.”
Winger would have impact at start of second-half
Harrison would make amends after the break. It was his short pass which set up Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the opening goal of the game at the start of the second-half.
It has been a decent start to his Everton loan for Harrison, with one goal and two assists coming his way so far.
And that may be good news if we hope to sell him permanently next summer.
