Angus Kinnear has shared his frustration in a meeting with the LUFC Trust over the exit of Jack Harrison on loan to Everton from Leeds United – having believed that Leeds had done enough to keep the winger.
Harrison, 26, ended a five-year stint at Elland Road this week – when he opted to move to Everton. That is despite them being a main rival of Leeds over the last two years. He goes on loan for the 23-24 term.
The Englishman is one of a number of loans – after Max Wober, Robin Koch, Rasmus Kristensen, Diego Llorente, Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca have all gone. Tyler Adams is set for a permanent transfer.
A £23m move to Bournemouth is expected sooner rather than later. Situations remain surrounding the future of Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra. But Kinnear has been left frustrated by the exit of Harrison.
The LUFC Trust told fans: “We discussed the specific and unexpected loan of Harrison. We asked if it was the club’s decision for Jack to go on loan. Angus said that the club were equally as disappointed.
“Significant efforts from end of last season until departure were made to keep him, but symptomatic of the situation. More difficult to compete with Premier League lure, as it is with top European leagues.”

It is a blow to lose Harrison. A player that would have been a real asset in the Championship. One that clearly knows how to get out of the division. But, Leeds do have replacements for the ex-Man City man.
Dan James is back, Ian Poveda is impressing, Cree Summerville looks as though he will stay put and as far as things stand – Leeds look set to keep Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra. But Harrison’s exit is a loss.
New signings are expected with Angus Kinnear also telling the LUFC Trust that the loan exits of the seven aforementioned players has raised a decent total of £30m. That, which can now be reinvested.
