A new transfer revelation that has emerged at Leeds United is interest in striker Willem Geubbels, as the Whites’ chances of signing the Frenchman have been revealed.
Despite there being ‘no truth’ in Leeds’ pursuit of Geubbels there may still be life in this transfer yet.
A striker has been labelled in Daniel Farke’s plan so it may not be completely dead and buried, as the 23-year-old may seek a move to Elland Road.
Leeds aren’t the only Championship club looking into the deal as promotion rivals Burnley and Sheffield United are interested in Geubbels as well.
However, this may not be a three-club race after all, as Leeds’ updated chances have been revealed.

Leeds United’s chances of signing Willem Geubbels
Leeds have already done good business with Geubbels’ club in St. Gallen, as Farke acquired Isaac Schmidt from the Swiss side last summer.
So, there is every reason they could do business with the club again in their bid for a striker.
However, Leeds’ most likely chance to bring Geubbels to Elland Road is through a loan deal, and now Nau.ch may have handed Farke a big blow.
St. Gallen are ‘unlikely’ to let the Frenchman leave on loan in this window, as Farke’s side may have to change their transfer formula and consider buying him, and as it has been stressed ‘it won’t be cheap’.
The Swiss outlet haven’t mentioned the fee needed to convince St. Gallen, as Leeds may not want the option of forking out a figure.
Adding onto Leeds’ unlikely claim for Geubbels, the striker has now been linked to West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City as the young talisman is clearly grabbing plenty of attention.

Joel Piroe display against Norwich may heighten Farke’s interest in a striker
Whether Geubbels is the right man to provide competition for Leeds’ no.9 role is another question, but judging by the Whites’ 2-0 victory against Norwich last night, Farke may need someone in this role.
Joel Piroe did work hard for Leeds vs Norwich but his overall performance may tell Farke he requires another option in the striking position.
| Piroe’s statistics in Leeds 2-0 Norwich | |
| Touches | 26 (The lowest of any outfield player who played 90′) |
| Expected goals (xG) | 0.27 |
| Aerial duels won % | 0/2 (0%) |
| Touches in opposition box | 4 |
Despite Leeds’ win, Farke’s side did make hard work of finishing off their chances and on another day it could’ve cost Leeds.
Piroe played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday night which may leave Mateo Joseph in the dark, potentially hinting Farke is looking into the prospect of a new striker.
