Daniel Farke’s transfer window seems to be as disappointing as the Leeds United boss made out.
It’s been a month fully focused on football for Farke, as he isn’t giving anything away on the transfer front.
Besiktas are moving for Leeds target Buendia as new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could put an end to one of Leeds’ limited transfer targets.
Adding onto this, interest in Andrew Omobamidele from Leeds has gone fairly quiet as Farke won’t have long to get signings wrapped up as the deadline looms.
The Whites’ fanbase may have gotten excited about a recent Willem Geubbels rumour, however, another disappointment is waiting for the Leeds faithful this January.

‘No truth’ in Leeds United pursuit for striker Willem Geubbels
With not long left in the window, Leeds’ hope of four signings is looking very slim, which includes a striker, as any potential of a new number nine is fading this January.
Earlier on Tuesday Leeds were linked with a move for St. Gallen striker Geubbels alongside promotion rivals Sheffield United and Burnley.
The 23-year-old has had a strong season in Switzerland as astonishingly, Geubbels once cost a whopping £17.5m at 16.
However, any signs of Leeds showing interest has been shut down by Leeds United journalist, Isaac Johnson, who said there is ‘no truth’ in reports about Geubbels.

Geubbels’ numbers compared to Leeds’ striker options
Whether Leeds need a new striker is up for debate, as Joel Piroe has performed well for the most part at Elland Road.
Mateo Joseph has had his critics but is Guebbels the striker Farke would’ve been happy with at this stage of the season.
Comparing the Frenchman’s goal-scoring stats to Leeds’ current flock, it may give Leeds the idea that Geubbels isn’t the right option for Farke’s side.
| Geubbels league statistics compared to Leeds’ strikers | |
| Goals | 1. Piroe (10) – 2. Geubbels (6) – 3. Joseph (2) |
| xG on target | 1. Geubbels (7.02) – 2. Piroe (6.98) – 3. Joseph (4.34) |
| Touches in opposition box | 1. Piroe (73) – 2. Joseph (71) – 3. Geubbels (56) |
| Chances created | 1. Piroe (20) – 2. Geubbels (16) – 3. Joseph (14) |
Looking at these numbers you may see why Farke is possibly favouring to stick with Piroe.
That is looking like the outcome this January as Leeds will have to rely on Piroe for the goals in the hope of Premier League promotion.
