Leeds United fans will jump at any sign associating themselves with the Champions League but this involves a player they missed out on.
The Whites have had their fair share of transfer mistakes over the years, mainly Jean-Kevin Augustin’s Leeds move in 2020 proving to be the worst.
In recent times however, Leeds have got it fairly spot on, but will be ruing missed chances to sign previous transfer targets.
Recently, Emi Buendia was suspected of joining Leeds but the Argentine opted for a move to Bayer Leverkusen, however a summer move to Leeds for Buendia could work.
There was one star though that the Whites missed out on for just £8 million, who has now shone in the Champions League.

Former Leeds United target Ferran Jutgla scored in the Champions League
At the moment Daniel Farke will be happy with his striker options after Joel Piroe impressed in Leeds’ 4-0 win vs Watford.
This doesn’t mean they still can’t add to their striking department though.
According to Spanish outlet, El Nacional in 2022, Leeds were willing to pay £8m for Barcelona striker Ferran Jutgla.
The Spaniard was an exciting prospect at La Masia at the time, but a deal with the Whites never had any legs, as Jutgla made the jump elsewhere the following summer.
After completing a move to Club Brugge, Jutgla scored 13 goals in his first League season and the now 26-year-old has had the opportunity to play Champions League football, scoring a brilliant finish against Atalanta in a crucial 2-1 win for the Belgian side in the play-offs.

Jutgla and Leeds striker Mateo Joseph know each other well
The Spanish striker came through the Espanyol academy, as Leeds fans will see a link between one of their own strikers.
Mateo Joseph was signed from Espanyol in January 2022, the same time the Whites were looking at Jutgla.
Both appeared in the academy during the 2017/18 season, as this was clearly an area of interest to Leeds.
After Mateo Joseph’s poor form for Leeds, did the Whites end up picking the wrong striker moving forward.
