Leeds United simply cannot sell 22-year-old this month, even if £30m bid does come in

Daniel Farke has already made his stance clear regarding player sales at Leeds United this month.

Farke has confirmed that he does not want to see anyone leave before the end of the window as he looks to keep the squad as settled as possible during an automatic promotion race.

While that stance may have softened on fringe players such as Charlie Cresswell, it most certainly won’t with his key players, particularly given the pace of the top end of the Championship.

And the one man who is arguably the most important to keep this month is Crysencio Summerville, whose displays have been winning him admirers from Premier League clubs.

Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Brighton are among those to have been linked and it has now been reported that Leeds have placed an asking price of £30 million on his head.

Leeds can’t sell Summerville whatever the price

While £30 million would represent a significant sale for a side sitting in the Championship, it still should not be enough to tempt Leeds into selling this month.

Having been signed for just £1.3 million back in 2020, £30 million would represent significant profit towards Leeds’ profit and sustainability figures, but it still doesn’t touch the sides of Premier League money.

Leeds would be all but ending their hopes of promotion by selling someone as important as Summerville, who has a very impressive 12 goals and six assists already this season.

If Leeds fail to secure promotion, they would still have a very saleable asset on their books in the summer which can be put towards rebuilding the squad for next season.

Thankfully, though, Summerville is in no rush to depart Elland Road this month anyway and so hopefully it should be a smooth month regarding his future anyway.
