Left-back appears to be the position top of Leeds United’s list of priorities this month.
It remains an area of the field Leeds have struggled in for several seasons now and while Sam Byram has proved to be a strong option since arriving on a free transfer, he is now beginning to miss more and more matches through injury.
Junior Firpo, meanwhile, showed what he can do at this level with two assists in the win over Birmingham City on Monday, but again, has also missed much of this season through injury.
With that in mind, Daniel Farke has already confirmed it is a position that will be addressed and one name which has been heavily linked so far is Hellas Verona’s Josh Doig.
However, according to Tutto Mercato Web journalist Marco Conteiro, who has today reported on Twitter that a move to Torino is ‘in sight’ at this stage, which would be a blow to Leeds.

Rangers are also among the sides said to be keen on landing Doig, as they look to offer him a route back to Scotland after he left Hibernian for Verona.
It has even been said that Verona – who value Doig at £5.5m – are interested in a move for Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz which would facilitate a potential swap deal, though according to the latest report, Torino are the front runners.
If this is indeed true, this would be a blow for Leeds as Doig would’ve represented a strong signing, given both his age, fitness record, and already vast amount of top-level experience.
The 21-year-old is a player who is seen to have ‘incredible potential’ and would set Leeds up in that position for many years to come.
However, it would now appear they may have to look elsewhere in their pursuit of reinforcements, with a move across Italy deemed the most likely at this stage.
