For the Whites, this has been the case, as the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho have been speculated around Leeds.

The latest news has come in the form of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who is of interest to Leeds as he would certainly be a big-name in the Championship.

Another player who has been suggested for Leeds is unknown but has a promising future.

Leeds United mooted as landing spot for Maurits Kjaergaard

Maurits Kjaergaard is a promising talent in European football, as Leeds may look to snatch the 21-year-old off fellow RedBull side RB Salzburg.

The Whites signing the youngster would be a real statement and help Leeds’ pursuit of an attacking midfielder.

He has been in the RedBull system for his entire senior career and plays regularly in the Champions League, as Kjaergaard became the youngest Dane to score in the competition three years ago in a disappointing 7-1 defeat at Bayern Munich.

According to MailOnline, top Serie A clubs began following him closely in 2022, as Kjaergaard belongs to an Italian agency.

The report suggests that Kjaergaard needs to move up the Red Bull ladder to Leipzig like many before him, as he could pursue a move to the clubs suggested in Leeds, Nottingham Forest, and Wolves.

His talent and versatility mean he is worth getting early eyes on.

Leeds signing ‘indispensable’ Kjaergaard would be a steal

The Dane clearly has a high ceiling and Leeds should definitely look into the suggestion.

Leeds could do with a new, upcoming No.10 after Brendan Aaronson has been frustrating for the Whites.

In an interview with The Krone, Salzburg director of sport, Rouven Schroder spoke on the squad and how important Kjaergaard is after he suffered a recent ankle injury that will keep him out for months.

“Basically, we are looking very closely at all positions. The fall has shown that no player is indispensable. Except for Maurits Kjaergaard.

We miss (Kjaergaard) everywhere on and off the pitch because he is simply a top player. But at the end of the day, we’re checking the entire market and making ourselves smart.”

As soon as the summer window comes around, Leeds should be straight on the phone to get a deal done for Kjaergaard.
