Leeds United are currently having to resolve the situation with Mateo Joseph this transfer window.
The Spaniard has had his future up in the air for a while, but after a recent conversation with Daniel Farke, his fortunes have become a lot clearer.
Joseph told Farke he wants to leave as he hopes for a return to Spain after Real Betis are in talks with the 21-year-old.
Despite the talks taking place, there is still a difference between what’s wanted by both clubs as Leeds want up to £13m for Joseph this summer.
Whilst negotiations go on, you’d expect the professional thing for Joseph to do is carry on with his job, but after his desire not to return to training, Leeds might have had a bit of fun with this on social media.

Leeds United might have taken dig at Mateo Joseph situation
Farke is as professional as they come, and the Leeds boss will know what’s right and wrong for the squad.
The German seems to want to keep the striker, but he’s made it very clear that there is nothing he can do, with Farke not standing in Joseph’s way.
His mind seems made up, and Betis look to be Joseph’s destination, and with this situation in mind, it will bring deja vu to Leeds fans.
In the past, Willy Gnonto forced a Leeds exit, with the Italian unhappy at Elland Road due to wanting Premier League football after the club’s relegation in 2023.
But Gnonto has bounced back since these issues and has once again become a key part of Farke’s plans.
It could be a coincidence, but considering Joseph’s situation, Leeds posted a picture of Gnonto on X, saying: “Still working, still smiling!”.
This could be a slight dig at the Spaniard, who is refusing to work, whilst Gnonto chose to keep working, and it’s paying off for him.

Leeds will benefit from Joseph’s exit more than fans think
It’s disappointing to see a player like the young striker looking to leave, as he has shown promise at Leeds.
Joseph has been compared to Erling Haaland, with the Spaniard looking like one of the more intriguing talents in Farke’s squad.
Nevertheless, his future has the full picture now, but Leeds fans shouldn’t be too down about his decision to leave.
This is due to Leeds’ PSR getting a boost from Joseph’s sale, as the 49ers will no doubt have to balance the books now that six signings have come through the door.
Benefits will be available from the striker’s transfer, and that will strengthen Leeds’ project in the long-term view.
