Leeds United will be thrilled that they’ve retaken charge of the Championship promotion race.

It was a resiliant display from Leeds, who have secured a vital three points in terms of their prospects of being promoted to the Premier League.

Leeds’ 1-0 win over Middlesbrough showed that the Whites aren’t down and out after questions have been raised over performances.

Well, the players will be back in the good books of the fans, but the officiating on display was shocking to say the least.

One figure at the club has made his feelings clear to the EFL in a serious demand for changes.

Daniel Farke sends clear message to EFL after Leeds United win vs Middlesbrough

It was a game of relief for Whites fans, who now have promotion back in their hands, and Daniel Farke will be hoping a blip doesn’t appear anytime soon.

There were spirited performances from the likes of Dan James and Karl Darlow, but unfortunately, refereeing decisions took the headlines.

Leeds will obviously want promotion, and with the top flight comes VAR, in another reason why they need to get out of the second tier, as Neil Warnock called Ao Tanaka’s disallowed goal a ‘disgrace’.

A disgrace at that, as Tanaka was obviously in an onside position, but that didn’t stop there.

In the second half, Patrick Bamford scored a perfectly good goal, but once again, the linesman’s flag was up, and Farke was once again bemused.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Leeds’ win, the Whites manager made his feelings very clear over the EFL’s decision to put linesman Darren Williams on their games.

“That’s the same linesman within the last 8 weeks; he has ruled three regular goals out at Coventry, [against] Millwall, and today,” Farke said.

“I wouldn’t say they were the most difficult decisions. So, why do we keep sending him to Leeds matches?”

Farke’s rant continued on Leeds United controversy with ‘struggling’ claim

The Leeds manager was left perplexed by the overall management of the game by the officials and it’s hard to disagree with him.

As mentioned before by Farke, Williams has cost Leeds previously, and the EFL must know now to keep him far away from Leeds matches.

Farke’s rant didn’t stop on the linesman, as it wouldn’t be surprising if the EFL took action over his comments, as it’s clear the German has lost his head over the decisions, and he has every reason to do so.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Farke said: “I’m not sure why he’s the assistant for us and why he rules out three good goals in eight weeks.

“It’s about millions of pounds, but we allow ourselves this level of assistant performances. I am struggling with this. Hard to accept.”

Farke is in bafflement along with the Leeds fanbase but at the end of the day, the Whites return to the top of the tree.
