Leeds United star Jayden Bogle has pleaded with the club’s fans to “stick together” after the latest defeat against Aston Villa.

Daniel Farke felt the anger of the Leeds crowd during the defeat against Aston Villa as his side slipped deeper into the relegation battle.

Leeds fans chanted angrily for Farke to make a substitution midway through the second half, earning criticism from Martin Keown.

Some sections of the Elland Road crowd also voiced their frustration with Farke at full-time, after Leeds fell to their fifth defeat in six games.

Now, senior players Jayden Bogle and Ethan Ampadu have issued a rallying cry to fans as Leeds stare down the barrel of a challenging run of fixtures.

Leeds United captain sends ‘belief’ message to angry fans

Posting on his personal Instagram account, Ampadu acknowledged that Leeds had suffered a difficult period, having fallen to three consecutive Premier League defeats.

However, Ethan Ampadu insisted that the squad still believes that they can pull themselves out of trouble, despite their recent poor run of form.

Ampadu said: “A difficult period, but the belief doesn’t change. Thank you for your continued support.”

Fellow senior player Bogle also admitted that Leeds had endured a difficult run of results, but urged everyone at the club to remain united in the face of adversity.

Posting on his Instagram story, Bogle said: “Tough few weeks. Stick together! Keep working and believing!”

Leeds United cannot afford a repeat of Marcelo Bielsa’s Manchester City disaster

Leeds travel to the Etihad Stadium to face title contenders Manchester City in their next game and desperately need to pull off a surprise result.

They cannot afford a repeat of their visit to Manchester under Marcelo Bielsa, when Leeds were also mired in a relegation battle.

Pundits and journalists pile the pressure on Daniel Farke…

“I think it could turn ugly quite quickly with the fans. They have a tough run now.”

Chris Sutton

“If he changes his style and goes more forward-thinking, that would be a start.”

Ally McCoist

“I just think you’re dangerously close to that point [sacking Farke]. Very dangerously close to that point because of what we’ve seen.”

Graham Smyth

Bielsa’s side were ravaged by injury, missing key players such as the influential Kalvin Phillips, and they surrendered meekly in a 7-0 defeat, which could have actually been much worse.

If Leeds were to suffer a similar defeat this weekend, it could be enough to end Farke’s time in charge.
