Daniel Farke deserves his chance at managing Leeds United in the Premier Leaguen but the 49ers might prefer other options.

It’s somehow become a situation, but Farke leaving Leeds this summer could be a real possibility.

Despite having a record-breaking season with the Whites where they could finish on 100 points in the Championship, the owners might not stick with Farke.

This is more due to his Premier League credentials, but Paraag Marathe wants to give Farke the chance.

However, this won’t stop murmurs around other candidates, and one has responded to the prospect of managing Leeds.

Leeds United managerial target Kjetil Knutsen responds to murmurs

You might have heard of a little fairytale going on over in the Europa League.

That’s with Norwegian side, Bodo/Glimt, who are in the semi-final of the European competition in extraodinary fashion.

The brilliant little club is managed by Kjetil Knutsen, who, according to BBC Sport, is a candidate to take over from Farke.

Speaking ahead of his pre-match press conference before the 3-1 loss to Tottenham on Thursday night, Knutsen was asked about the Leeds links and whether he would consider a move to Elland Road.

“No, not at all,” Knutsen said.

“I really want the players to reach their potential. I think you have to live in the present.

“Thinking about what lies far ahead, then you lose the most important thing.”

Knutsen could be the Andoni Iraola-type move Leeds are looking for

With Farke under the radar, it could actually turn out to be his final ever game away at Plymouth on Saturday, in extraordinary circumstances.

But Leeds could be looking for something different, and take inspiration off the likes of Bourenmouth.

In this sense, Leeds want an Andoni Iraola-type manager, with the Spaniard managing to stabilise Bournemouth from certain relegation, to potential European football.

Iraola himself got blocked from Leeds, but maybe, judging by Knutsen’s record in Europe he could emerge as the perfect option.

An unknown manager like the Norwegian could be rogue, but if it pays off, the 49ers will be lauded.
