Dan James scored his seventh Championship goal of the season on Wednesday night, helping Leeds United to a 2-0 win over Daniel Farke’s former club Norwich City.
Leeds United retain their top spot in the Championship table with a routine win over Norwich City, and retain their unbeaten league start to 2025.
The Whites have drawn two and now won two in the Championship in 2025. Daniel Farke’s side were coming under some quite serious scrutiny from fans after that 3-3 draw against Hull City earlier in the month, but back-to-back wins has eased some of the pressure.
And once again, Farke has Dan James to thank. Manor Solomon scored the first and then assisted James’ goal in another promising outing for the Spurs loan man, but James was in good form again.
The former Manchester United man has seven goals in 22 Championship outings this season, steadily nearing his tally of 13 in 43 last time round. And his goal on Wednesday night actually wrote him into the Leeds United record books.

Leeds United are once again proving formidable at Elland Road. Farke’s side boast the league’s best home record in the Championship in 2024/25 with 38 points taken from a possible 45 so far, which is six more points than Sheffield United although they’ve played two less home games.
And Opta statistician Jonny Cooper discovered that after the Norwich City game, Leeds United have won their last 16 home games in which James has scored in. Cooper posted on X: “It’s the most games a Leeds player has scored in at Elland Road and won every single time in the club’s history.”

Solomon has become a really key player in recent weeks along with James. The pair are scoring goals and putting points on the board for Leeds, with striker Joel Piroe having been hit and miss.
Speaking after the win over Norwich City, James gave his verdict on Solomon and how the pair operate together. James explained: “We speak to each other before games. I know he’s going to be there and he knows I will be.
“He’s brilliant at getting in there, he’s been class throughout the year, really found his form, he will continue to do that.”
Now with James having written himself into the Leeds United history books, it should get him some more recognition. Farke himself has said James is judged harshly because of his price tag. Either way, he’s been producing the goods of late.
