Leeds United are back at the top of the Championship table after beating Norwich City at Elland Road on Wednesday night, with The Whites securing a 2-0 victory.

Manor Solomon and Dan James got the goals, creating a goal for each other. Leeds got off to a stunning start, with James’ cross expertly turned in after excellent work from Brenden Aaronson and Jayden Bogle.

The second came when Junior Firpo came off the bench and made a dent in Norwich’s box, before the ball found Solomon curled a delightful ball to the back post and James finished on the volley, superbly.

That’s now 11 goals and assists for James this season, and 11 for Solomon in all competitions. The duo have performed so well that they currently sit above Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani in the order.

Dan James raves about on-loan Leeds star Manor Solomon

It was a slow start for Solomon. He joined Leeds from Tottenham on loan after a season out of action, suffering a torn meniscus just six games into his Spurs move – joining the club after shining at Fulham.

Wales international James is also shining at Leeds after a spell at Fulham and speaking to LUTV after the win over Norwich City on Wednesday night, James raved about his counterpart on the other flank.

“We speak to each other before games. I know he’s gonna be there and he knows I will be. He’s brilliant at getting in there, he’s been class throughout the year, really found his form, he will continue to do that.”

What Graeme Bailey has said about Leeds signing Solomon

The Israel star is getting back to his best, the player that has become a regular with his country. One that impressed in the Champions League, the Premier League and earned a move to a club like Tottenham.

Having only signed for Tottenham in the summer of 2023, Solomon has a contract at Spurs until June 2028. It means that Spurs are under no pressure to sell him and Daniel Levy is tough to negotiate with.

But, Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that the chances of signing Solomon are good – but it is down to the player. The chances are he has little future at Spurs and if Leeds go up, there is every chance.
