Harry Gray spotted at international game with Leeds United star embroiled in tug of war

There is plenty of talk at the moment regarding Harry Gray’s future at Leeds United, with January approaching and the possibility of a loan. But a long-term tug-of-war is emerging, too.

Gray is yet to add to his solitary senior appearance this season, which came in the final moments of last season’s 6-0 win over Stoke City. The same day that Joel Piroe netted four and Leeds secured promotion.

This season, Gray has been on fire for the 21’s. Despite a hip injury, the 17-year-old has blasted his way to 10 goals in all competitions for Scott Gardner’s side, and fans are desperate to see him get a senior run.

But Daniel Farke, unsurprisingly, has shown patience when it comes to Gray. He reminded fans that when it comes to faith in youth, he is the perfect manager for Gray’s development. Clubs are queuing up.

Charlton, Derby, Swansea and Joe Gelhardt’s Hull are all keen on luring Gray back to the Championship in January. But that is not the only battle to secure his services, with Scotland attempting to convince Gray.

Gray wasn’t called up for England duty this month, possibly because he is delaying a decision, whether it comes to Scotland or England. Reports say Scotland are pulling out all the stops to get Gray on board.

Indeed, Scotland were even considering including Gray in the senior side this month, had he chosen to follow in great uncle Eddie, grandfather Frank, and father Andy’s footsteps; not in brother Archie’s.

Eddie, Frank and Andy all played for Scotland but Archie has chosen to pursue a career with England, winning the U21 Euros in the summer. Archie can, of course, still change, but his choice is clear as day.

Younger brother Harry is yet to make that decision but posting on his Instagram, Harry was in the crowd at Hampden on Tuesday night as Scotland booked a place at the World Cup with a win over Denmark.

If Scotland want to tempt Leeds star Harry Gray, this was perfect

There is every chance that Gray attended Hampden on Tuesday night simply as a fan of football, and in the hope that his father’s, grandfather’s, and great uncle’s side would go on to secure a World Cup place.

But if Scotland hope to tempt Gray, they couldn’t have picked a better game for Gray to attend. The teen will have experienced Hampden Park at full pomp, as Scotland celebrated a remarkable 4-2 victory.

A win that sees Scotland book their place at a World Cup for the first time in 28 years. Once linked with Leeds, Kenny McLean scored from the halfway line, lobbing former Leeds goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The atmosphere was electric and if Gray needed convincing, he will have been. Perhaps then, there is a real chance that Gray goes against his brother, and could well end up playing against him in the future.
