Leeds United are interested in signing Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean.

That is according to TeamTalk, who report Leeds are lining up a deal to sign McLean before the end of the window as they begin looking for Tyler Adams‘ replacement.

Adams is on the verge of a move to Bournemouth with the US international midfielder set to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed switch.

As per Phil Hay, the Cherries reached a £23 million + add-ons agreement with Leeds this morning amid uncertainty surrounding whether they had triggered Adams’ release clause in time.

Leeds were already in the market for a new midfielder prior to Adams’ imminent departure, but this latest development could see them look to bring in two.

Leeds eyeing move for Norwich midfielder McLean

McLean is well known to Leeds boss Daniel Farke with the German having brought him to Carrow Road from Aberdeen back in 2018.

The 31-year-old has since gone onto establish himself as a cult hero at Norwich, making 179 appearances, in which he has scored 11 goals and provided 18 assists.

McLean has played 68 matches in the Premier League during his time at the Canaries, over double that of the outgoing Adams, who has 26 under his belt.

He would bring some much-needed experience to a position that is currently littered with youngsters in Farke’s squad, with 17-year-old Archie Gray having started all three games so far this season.

It remains to be seen whether Norwich will be tempted into selling McLean at this stage of the window, with the Scotland international a regular under David Wagner.
