Georginio Rutter has sent a four-word message to Leeds United supporters ahead of Saturday’s crucial match against Ipswich Town.

Leeds head into the weekend clash at Elland Road sat 10 points behind their opponents in second place, having not won in either of their last two matches against Sunderland and Coventry City.

Sky Sports pundit Jobi McAnuff believes the pressure is on Leeds going into the game, as they cannot afford to slip even further behind their opponents in the race for automatic promotion.

McAnuff’s colleague Andy Hinchcliffe, meanwhile, thinks Leeds will be ‘worried’ about how Ipswich can hurt them, with the quality they have shown on so many occasions this season.

However, Rutter has issued a rallying cry to supporters via his Instagram despite the recent blip in form, insisting that he and his teammates are ready to keep fighting. He said: “We won’t give up.”

Leeds need Rutter at brilliant best

Rutter has been superb so far for Leeds this season with one of his best performances coming at Portman Road back in August during the 4-3 win, in which he netted his first goal for the club.

Goals haven’t been too frequent since that match, but it is his creativity and dribbling that has made him such a key player, having registered nine assists in the league. No one has more.

Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca believes Leeds are the best counter attacking team in the division and that could come to good use on Saturday, with Ipswich unlikely to just sit back.

Matches like that are where Rutter can come into his own as part of an ‘unplayable’ front four alongside Dan James, Joel Piroe and Crysencio Summerville, as he creates numerous chances for his teammates.

Hopefully Rutter will be at his brilliant best for Leeds at the weekend to spearhead his side to a crucial win and move to within seven points of the top two.
