‘Will be worried’… Sky Sports pundit makes claim about Leeds United ahead of Ipswich match

Sky Sports commentator Andy Hinchcliffe believes Leeds United will be ‘worried’ ahead of facing Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The Whites face their biggest match of the season at Elland Road this weekend as they sit third in the table, but with the gap at 10 points to Ipswich – who occupy second.

The points tally Leeds have accumulated so far would usually be enough to be in the automatic promotion places, but defeat to Ipswich could leave with them with a real uphill battle even at the halfway stage of the season.

And speaking on Sky Sports News today, Hinchcliffe thinks the pressure is off Ipswich heading into the match due to how they have already proven themselves this season.

He is also of the opinion that Leeds will be concerned about the damage Ipswich can do on Saturday, which will make for an exciting game, from a neutral’s point of view.

Leeds need win against Ipswich

He said: “To me, they proved what ability they have in the games they have played so far. They’ve got nothing to prove in those games with Leeds and Leicester.

“I do think the Leeds game is more important because Leicester will probably run away with the title. It’s about keeping Leeds a fair number of points behind them.

“I’m going to Elland Road on Saturday and I can’t wait for it. It’ll be a very exciting game with both sides going for it. But Ipswich, if they were to win or even lose both of them, it would not change my view of them.

“They’ve followed on from how they played in League One, so Leeds and Leicester will be worried about playing Ipswich. Just because they drew with Norwich, there won’t be any fear from them.”

Leeds have faced sides who have sat deep over the last two matches and struggled to break them down, and so Ipswich could be a game which actually plays more into their hands.

Leicester boss Enzo Maresca believes Leeds are the best counter-attacking team in the division and during the 4-3 win at Ipswich back in August, they proved it.

However, the pressure will certainly be on Leeds at Elland Road and they cannot afford to leave empty handed if they want the top two.
