Archie Gray probably summed up what a lot of Leeds United fans made of Georginio Rutter after the forward’s first goal for the Whites came in some style on Saturday.
Gray was amongst those to reply to the Frenchman’s Instagram post after Leeds picked up their first win of the new season, beating Ipswich Town 4-3 at Portman Road.

Georginio Rutter is now off the mark for Leeds. Some may have feared that that goal would never come. Certainly, few would have expected it to come in such remarkable fashion.
Archie Gray amongst Leeds players to laud Georginio Rutter after goal in win
Rutter has shown a couple of glimpses since arriving in January. But it seemed that he just needed to bundle the ball in somehow if he was ever going to score for the Whites.

However, the 21-year-old had other ideas. He produced a stunning solo run, which included an outrageous burst into the box, before finding the bottom corner to equalise for Daniel Farke’s side.
Rutter has won plenty of plaudits for his attitude this summer. There has been little speculation that he has been pushing for a move away from the club. And he has clearly given everything when he has been involved. So it is fantastic to see that he is now off the mark for Leeds.
Hopefully, it is the first of many. And clearly, his teammates were delighted for him. Rutter took to Instagram after scoring the goal. And amongst those to reply were the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto…

It is a massive boost for Leeds that all of the starting front four scored on Saturday. Of course, the Tractor Boys had flown out of the blocks at the start of this campaign.
Naming a front four of Rutter, Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra and Joel Piroe was a massive plus for Farke. And they lived up to expectations.
If Leeds can keep that quartet together for the majority of the season, the rest of this campaign is going to be a lot of fun.
