Leeds United are a top flight club once more, but the most successful period for the club came during Don Revie’s era in charge.
Many of Leeds United’s most legendary players are from the 1960s and 70s, with Don Revie leaving his mark on the club and being commemorated with a statue outside of Elland Road for his efforts in the dugout.
But Daniel Farke’s 100 points last season is the most in Leeds’ history, with Farke beating Marcelo Bielsa and Revie to some records in doing so last term. It truly was a magnificent campaign for the Whites in 2024/25.
On top of that, Leeds matched a Revie record against Wolves. That was the most recent one that Farke’s side have set, but it may well not be the last he yet breaks as Leeds boss.

Ethan Ampadu matches Allan Clarke’s Leeds record
It’s still true that Revie set unbroken records at Leeds. However, Farke also matched some Revie records last season and some of his players continue to break the incredible feats of Revie’s side.
Eddie Gray, Billy Bremner, Johnny Giles, John Charles, Norman Hunter and more make up some of the best players in the club’s history. One of the best strikers in Leeds’ history is Allan ‘Sniffer’ Clarke.
Sniffer is due to his nose for goals and knack of being a true poacher in the box, but his goals also won Leeds plenty of games and points, unsurprisingly.
Clarke held a record of 50 wins in his first 81 league games, which he achieved back in 1971, some 54 years ago. However, Ethan Ampadu has matched that after Leeds beat Wolves 3-1.
Opta’s Jonny Cooper states Ampadu has won 50 of his 81 league and play-off appearances for Leeds, which is the joint-quickest any Leeds player has reached 50 wins, equalling Clarke’s record of 50 wins in his first 81 league games.
Ampadu’s record as captain is ‘the best’ in Leeds’ history as well. Of course, it’s all relative, with most of his games coming in the second tier. However, it speaks to his importance to Farke as his talismanic captain.

Dan James and Daniel Farke outline Ampadu’s Leeds importance
Ampadu has been setting Leeds records for fun. His importance to the dressing room and on the pitch is perhaps even underrated by many.
Wales and Leeds teammate Dan James explained how he feels about Ampadu last season, stating: “Ethan just takes everything in his stride.
“The way he carries himself on and off the pitch is unbelievable. He’s naturally a captain at heart.”
Farke has described Ampadu as Leeds’ most important player previously as well, stating: “He is my most important player but that does not mean he can play every minute just yet.
“You can’t expect after just one week of team training that he starts where he was before his injury. He needs time, you have to shake off the rust — but he’s in contention.”
