Leeds United manager Daniel Farke believes one of his players is among the best in the Premier League after his strong recent form.

Daniel Farke has helped to inspire several strong performances from his Leeds squad in recent weeks, as his side claimed statement results against Chelsea and Liverpool.

Ao Tanaka has scored two crucial goals for Leeds, including a dramatic late equaliser against Liverpool, demonstrating his importance to Farke’s side.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also caught the eye with three goals in three games for Leeds, putting a difficult start to life at the club behind him in spectacular fashion.

Now, as Leeds prepare for a difficult trip to Brentford, Farke has explained why he believes Calvert-Lewin is one of the best players in the Premier League as he looks to continue his strong run of form.

Daniel Farke praises Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Speaking in his weekly press conference, Farke heaped praise on his prolific number nine.

Calvert-Lewin could join an exclusive club for Leeds if he scores in a fourth consecutive game for the Whites, and Farke believes that, at his best, he is one of the best players in the division.

Farke said: “I’ve followed his career for years, and this is what he has done throughout his career. He has delivered really good performances and scored many goals. You don’t win in the lottery, and it’s no coincidence that he’s there with more than 250 Premier League games and way more than 60 goals.

“Meanwhile, this is also why we were so desperate to sign him, because we know what he’s capable of, if he’s fit, if he’s in a good rhythm, and this is what he’s right now also delivering. So for me, not a surprise at all.

“So I think the key for him is to stay fit and to stay in a good rhythm, and then also, of course, to have his confidence back, and then also that he has a team that plays to his strengths, and then he scores goals.

“He’s a fantastic striker, a fantastic human being, a fantastic team-mate, and for me also one of the best strikers in this league.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s record v Brentford

Calvert-Lewin is one of the form strikers in the Premier League, as he looks for his fourth goal in as many games.

Although Leeds have a poor recent track record against Brentford, Calvert-Lewin’s record is more promising, as he has enjoyed some success in the fixture.

According to Transfermarkt, Calvert-Lewin has faced Brentford three times in his career, with his most recent appearance coming last season.

Despite not finding the net on that occasion, the former Everton man scored in his other two games against the Bees, both of which came in away games, which is a good sign for Farke’s hopes of pulling off another surprise result.
