Leeds United have reportedly sent scouts to watch a Europa League game as they look to strengthen Daniel Farke’s squad in the January transfer window.

Daniel Farke has made no secret of the need to strengthen his Leeds United squad, as he looks to keep the Whites in the top flight this season.

Although recent results have seen Leeds climb out of the bottom three in the Premier League, Farke knows he still needs to bolster his squad in January.

Leeds missed out on a late deal for Harry Wilson in the summer transfer window, which left Farke short on attacking options for his attempt to steer Leeds away from trouble.

Having been linked with the likes of Ireland star Troy Parrott in recent weeks, Leeds have now reportedly sent scouts to watch FC Midtjylland as the 49ers plan their winter transfer activity.

Who do you want Leeds to sign in January? A striker surely has to be the priority!

Leeds United scouts watch FC Midtjylland trio

FC Midtjylland took on the Belgian side Genk in the Europa League and secured a 1-0 win in front of their home fans.

According to Danish publication Bold, scouts from Leeds were also in attendance, alongside representatives from European giants such as Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Manchester United.

While the report from Bold does not name the players under the microscope, a subsequent report from Campo suggested that the clubs were watching Darío Osorio, Aral Şimşir and Mikel Gogorza.

Osorio played as the right wing-back of a back five, according to FotMob, playing 84 minutes, taking three shots and creating one chance.

Simsir was a standout performer in the number 10 role, creating five chances and completing seven dribbles, the most of any player on the pitch in both metrics. He was replaced by the 19-year-old Gogorza who managed two shots in his 30 minutes on the pitch.

Previously linked striker Franculino misses Europa League clash

The trio of Midtjylland talents that Leeds reportedly watched last night are not the first names from the club that have caught the 49ers‘ eye.

LeedsUnited.News previously reported that the club are monitoring prolific forward Franculino, who has impressed for the Danish side this season.

However, the scouts from Elland Road did not get a chance to watch the forward in action, as he missed the game through injury.

Franculino limped off after 33 minutes of Midtjylland’s league game against Viborg and, according to Flashscore, he will not play again this year.
