Daniel Farke has shared a fitness update on his Leeds United squad ahead of Saturday’s match with Burnley.

The Whites will be making their return to Championship action after two weeks off for the international break, in which 12 first team players were away with their respective countries.

With that in mind, Farke has not yet had a full complement of players to work with on the training ground ahead of the game at Elland Road.

However, for those who weren’t away, it has enabled them to have a couple of weeks of extra recovery time after a busy summer and start to the season.

New signings Largie Ramazani and Isaac Schmidt have also had a chance to settle in after their late window arrivals from UD Almeria and FC St. Gallen respectively.

Farke shares update on Dan James ahead of Leeds vs Burnley

Dan James and Patrick Bamford were Leeds’ only two absentees against Hull City last time out, both of which were due to hamstring issues.

James had been pencilled in for a return against Burnley upon the initial diagnosis of his injury, and was forced to pull out of the international break with Wales.

However, Farke had some bad news to bring in his pre-match press conference on James’ recovery, suggesting he has actually suffered a recurrence of the injury.

He said: “Daniel James had re-injury during his rehab and reinjury is worse than the one before. Out for four weeks until after the next break.

“Some hope he can get back before, but realistically we think it’s after the next break.”

Farke also provides update on Max Wober

Farke also shared a new update on Max Wober in his presser earlier this afternoon after complaints over a knee injury on international duty.

After starting Austria’s first match of the break, Wober was not used at all in the defeat to Norway, having only just recovered from a calf issue in August.

Unfortunately, Farke has claimed there are question marks over Wober’s availability heading into this weekend due to injury.

He said: “Question on Wober with a knee problem in his meniscus. That’s why he missed Austria’s second game. Question on his availability.”
