Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship table on Tuesday night but there might have been a couple of casualties from Wednesday night’s victory at Elland Road.
Leeds had slipped to fourth place in the Championship following Tuesday night’s fixtures. Sheffield United and Burnley picked up wins, while Sunderland only managed a fifth consecutive draw against West Brom.
Manor Solomon was handed his third consecutive Championship start for Leeds on Wednesday after the on-loan Tottenham man netted a brace at Swansea. Spurs fans were impressed with Solomon on Sunday.
The Israel skipper lasted he entire match for the first time since joining Leeds, as Sam Byram, Joel Piroe and Dan James scored to secure a 10th Championship win of the season and a third consecutive victory.
Daniel Farke delivers injury update on Leeds ace Manor Solomon
Solomon of course, has endured a dismal 18 months with injury. Joining Tottenham in the summer of 2023, he tore his meniscus after six games and was sidelined until joining Leeds on loan in the summer.
Shortly into his Leeds stint, Solomon picked up a back injury. But now, he is back and confidence is high after his first goals. Daniel Farke was asked if Solomon picked up a knock during Wednesday night’s win.
In his post-match press conference, Farke said that Solomon was just struggling with cramp as he finished 90 minutes: “Manor is okay. Lots of load for him in the last few days. No injury. Felt like cramp.”

Farke now has a real dilemma. Wilfried Gnonto scored the winner at Swansea and he lasted just over an hour on Wednesday night, James came off the bench to score again, and Solomon completed 90 minutes.
That is after Solomon netted a brace against Swansea, while Largie Ramazani is fit again. So, who does he start against Blackburn? Well, Farke said on Monday it will be a “while” before Ramazani can start games.
Given that Solomon completed 70 minutes on Sunday and then 90 minutes tonight, it is likely that the on-loan ace will be given a rest on Saturday and the chances are, Farke starts with Gnonto and James.
