Nevertheless, Wilder has been full of praise for Leeds and continues to heap the positivity on Daniel Farke’s side.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Wilder talked about Firpo’s equaliser and how Leeds are so lucky to have him at their disposal.

“Great ball to Firpo. He’s an outstanding player,” Wilder said.

“Arguably the best left-back in the division.”

Firpo’s performance and Wilder’s comments speak volumes about Leeds future

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how Leeds need to tie down Firpo to a new deal.

The 28-year-old’s contract at Elland Road is due to expire this summer and Firpo is likely to leave Leeds.

But after his performance against the Blades, the 49ers must do everything to try and secure Firpo with a fresh contract.

There is still plenty of time for a U-Turn to be made, as Firpo only looks to be heading one way, and Leeds will come to regret letting him go.
