Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United play host to Leeds United on Monday night, in a game that’s bound to have a huge say in who earns promotion from the Championship this season.
It’s 1st against 2nd on Monday night as leaders Leeds United head to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United in what could be one of the best games that this Championship campaign has seen so far.
The Whites go into this one on the back of their emphatic and dramatic 2-1 comeback win against Sunderland last time out. Sheffield United meanwhile won 1-0 at Luton Town, with just two points standing between Leeds and the Blades right now.
As ever, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder hasn’t shied away from sharing his thoughts ahead of the game on Monday night.
He’s often outspoken and he’ll be out to get revenge on Daniel Farke’s side on Monday night after Leeds United beat Sheffield United 2-0 at Elland Road earlier in the season, in what proved to be a relatively routine win for the Whites.

Chris Wilder’s message to Jayden Bogle ahead of Sheffield United vs Leeds United
Jayden Bogle has been a key player for Leeds United following his £5million summer move from Sheffield United. The right-back has shone for the Whites with four goals and two assists in 31 Championship games so far this season.
Speaking to Yorkshire Evening Post ahead of Monday, Wilder has given his verdict on Bogle’s summer exit, stating that he wished the 24-year-old had stayed at Bramall Lane. Nonetheless, Wilder is ready to go into battle with his former player on Monday.
The Blades boss explained: “I thought it was one of the best bits of business we ever did at Sheffield United, bringing him in. He was outstanding, and he’s a great kid. He had an opportunity to go to a top club.
“I don’t think we should have sold him if I’m being perfectly honest but that decision was not my decision. Jayden was one of our best players last season and I’d have liked to have built around him.
“But he’s moved on and had an outstanding season. I’ll shake his hand before, I’ll shake his hand after, but in between, he’s an opposition player. And it’s game on.”

Jayden Bogle reveals the difference between Leeds United and Sheffield United
Speaking earlier in the campaign, Bogle explained what was different about Leeds United following his summer move from South Yorkshire.
He was full of praise for the ‘mentality’ at Elland Road, saying: “I’d say just the feeling and mentality of the place. From the minute I spoke to people from the place I just sensed there was one goal, which is obviously to get promoted and win as many games as possible.
“Approaching every game with the mindset of we’re winning this game. I would say the mindset of the whole club, fanbase, support, atmosphere at the ground, all of them things bring a winning feeling to the place.”
Wilder will be well aware of the threat that Bogle poses his side on Monday. If allowed to get forward, the full-back could do his former club a lot of damage, with his partnership with Dan James down that right side having been mesmerising at times this season.
Leeds’ game at Sheffield United kicks off at 8pm on Monday night.
