Leeds United picked up a brilliant 2-0 victory over Sheffield United thanks to goals from Pascal Struijk and Mateo Joseph at Elland Road. Here are our player ratings.

Illan Meslier – 7

Had pretty much nothing to do all game but did everything he could’ve been asked, which is all you could’ve asked of him.

Jayden Bogle – 7

Understandably looked up for it against his former side, with the away end making their feelings known to him. Again, was dangerous going forward and dealt with most that was thrown his way defensively.

Joe Rodon – 7

A good battle with his Welsh international teammate Kieffer Moore throughout, which more often than not, he came out on top in.

Pascal Struijk – 8

With Moore occupying Rodon, Struijk didn’t have an awful lot to do, particularly in the first half. Incredible finish for his goal.

Junior Firpo – 7

Caused Jamie Shackleton a few issues with his runs forward and but for a couple of crosses, may well have ended up with an assist on another day.

Ao Tanaka – 8

Having played over in Japan just over 72 hours ago, this was as an accomplished performance anyone could’ve asked for from Tanaka. Excellent in possession, and decent at picking up the second balls.

Joe Rothwell – 8

Excellent again and really grew into it as it went on an and may well suggest he meant that corner delivery for Struijk.

Wilfried Gnonto – 7

Not quite at the levels of weeks gone by but still dangerous whenever he received the ball in the final third. Linked up with Largie Ramazani quite well.

Brenden Aaronson – 6

Bright in patches but with Sheffield United packing out the middle of the pitch, it was difficult for him to find much space in there. Missed two really good chances.

Largie Ramazani – 8

Leeds’ most dangerous attacker on the night, picking up little pockets of space in central areas. Unlucky not to score with a couple of first half efforts, but all in all, looked really sharp.

Joel Piroe – 6

Couldn’t really get into the game much against a couple of powerful centre-backs in Anel Ahmedodzic and Harry Souttar. Lovely assist for Mateo Joseph.
