Ben Davies has been linked with a Leeds United switch for some time now as a summer deal could come to fruition.

Leeds have been keen on Davies as the Welshman has been given more game time than expected this season at Tottenham.

The likelihood of that continuing next season is rare with Spurs’ defenders set to return from injury which could see the Whites move in for the 31-year-old.

With Daniel Farke’s side currently in the Championship, Davies would only join a Premier League team, which could work out to Leeds’ advantage if they get promoted.

Davies has been known to have a close friendship with Leeds centre-back Joe Rodon, as the Welshmen have a special bond.

What Leeds United target Ben Davies said about Joe Rodon

It’s unclear how much Tottenham want for Davies, but Leeds could no doubt do with someone of his experience in the Premier League next season.

Rodon’s friendship with Davies could hand Leeds a boost, as the Whites stalwart will still keep in touch with the Spurs defender due to their Wales connection.

Speaking on Tottenham’s YouTube channel, Davies revealed what Rodon always did when the pair were at Spurs together.

“Joe Rodon was another one (makes him laugh everyday) he was such a good friend.”

Davies and Rodon can be a formidable duo with Leeds in the Premier League

The signing of Davies would no doubt be welcomed, as the Welshman has taken on an important role for Tottenham this season showing he can be relied upon.

Rodon has been excellent for Leeds and Davies is a reliable figure in the dressing room.

Adding to this Rodon and Davies already know how to play with each other after their time with the Welsh national team, so it could make for a solid duo in defence if Leeds get promoted.
