It is difficult to understand if Leeds United actually played well on Saturday afternoon and were let down by individual errors, or actually The Whites should have done better as a collective.
Leeds went from 1-0 down to lead 3-1 at Hull City, only to be then pegged back and draw the game 3-3 despite leading by two goals going into the last 10 minutes. Illan Meslier is the one being criticised.
While it is not nice for a player to receive such blatant feedback from fans, Meslier will know that his performance deserved it and frustratingly so after a number of solid performances between the sticks.
Meslier was caught out of his goal for the first, guilty of dropping the ball to Joao Pedro for the second and then allowed Abu Kamara to score with the ball flying in pretty much in the middle of the Leeds goal.
However, it was not just Meslier that endured a difficult afternoon and Max Wober was the worst of the rest, in terms of his performance on the day…
Jon Newsome hammers Max Wober for “half-hearted” display
Max Wober is being linked with the exit door. After finally returning from injury, he started his second league game of the season on Saturday as the Austria international came in for Sam Byram at left-back.
Tony Dorigo blamed Wober for Hull’s first and throughout the game, he struggled. Jon Newsome told BBC Radio Leeds that Wober, who is rated at £12.5m by The 49ers, was “miles off it” on Saturday at Hull.
“Wober was miles, miles off it today. You could see in his recovery, the way he was picking up people, everything was half-hearted, everything was slow. Whether he was tired, carrying an injury I don’t know.”

He’s shown in the past he is willing to just dump Leeds and move on. Following relegation, he was one of the eight players to use a relegation loan clause, surprising many to join Daniel Farke’s old side Gladbach.
Salzburg could re-sign Wober using a “clever loan”, while Wolves have been touted with signing Wober. If the price is right, you could hardly discount Gladbach given he was a regular with the Bundesliga outfit.
It is a stretch to say Wober might have only played at 50% because of January interest, but he might have been avoiding a full sprint to avoid injury and keep himself available to make a possible exit this month.
