For the first time this season, Archie Gray was able to share a dressing room with the rest of his Leeds United teammates against Millwall.
Gray had only just turned 18 a few days before and FA safeguarding rules stipulate that anyone under that age has to get changed separately before and after matches.
It is crazy to think that for the best part of eight months, Gray was not getting the proper matchday experience, yet has still been producing brilliant performances on a weekly basis.
That said, Gray will have already formed good relationships with all of his teammates anyway, but has selected one player in particular that he couldn’t wait to see more of every morning after turning 18.
Daniel Farke has joked a couple of times that he has to escape into his office to have a break from the likes of Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville, but it is a different player who Gray and even Patrick Bamford believe is the funniest.
Gray and Bamford say 21-year-old Leeds player is absolutely hilarious
Gray was speaking alongside Bamford on the latest episode of his ‘My Mate’s A Footballer Podcast‘ alongside Joe Wilkinson, where he was asked about what it was like being in a dressing room on his own.
Wilkinson joked that he would actually prefer to keep it that way, but Gray insisted there are some funny players he couldn’t wait to be around more often.
Charlie Cresswell was the player he picked out as the funniest, and Bamford very much agreed, suggesting that Wilkinson would love some of the stuff he says on a daily basis.
Gray said: “There are some funny people. I couldn’t wait to be around Cressy every morning. Oh my god, you would actually love him. He is the funniest.”
Bamford then added: “You would love him, he is just an idiot. He is just so funny. I am trying to think what sums him up, remember that parrot joke I told you about? He does it all the time.”
Gray will be delighted Cresswell stayed at Leeds in January
Gray has actually just been away with Cresswell in England’s U21s, though the latter will once again have been feeling frustrated after not getting on the pitch, which has been the story of his season.

Cresswell had looked likely to depart at one stage in January with Leeds having received a number of offers for him, none of which met the valuation.
He had also been excluded from matchday squads due to concerns from Farke over his attitude, but those appear to have been ironed out as he is now back in the fold.
Despite his lack of game time, Cresswell is still clearly trying to make his presence felt off the field, and it is having a positive impact on the likes of Gray.
