BBC Journalist Adam Pope has given an update on Daniel Farke’s security at Leeds United as attention begins to turn towards the return of the Premier League.

Daniel Farke has enjoyed a solid start to life in the Premier League with Leeds, having steered his side to eight points from his opening seven games in charge.

Despite steering Leeds to promotion, Farke was subject to speculation over his future in the summer, with reports linking the Whites with a move for high-profile names such as Jose Mourinho.

The 49ers have shown they are not afraid to make managerial changes, having taken the decision to part company with former Rangers manager Russell Martin after a difficult start to the season.

Now, Pope has offered his opinion on whether Farke is at risk at Elland Road, and whether he will keep Leeds in the top flight this season.

Adam Pope gives an update on Daniel Farke’s job security

Speaking in a Q&A with BBC Sport, Pope gave his verdict on whether Farke is under any immediate threat at Leeds.

Previous reports had suggested that the Leeds owners are happy with Farke after the Whites’ start to the season, and the BBC West Yorkshire Sport man backed this assessment.

Pope said: “The start has been steady and, in terms of points, probably about what I envisaged. I feel Farke will keep Leeds in the Premier League for another season.

“The transfer window was solid, if not spectacular. Farke is very intelligent and understands the financial parameters he has to work within. He also knows how to manage upwards as well as his players.”

He added: “In all, the performances have deserved a few more points and, therefore, there are no questions over his immediate future.”

Premier League season hangs in the balance ahead of crucial Leeds United run

There is a lingering sense of what could have been regarding Leeds’ start to the season, as Farke’s side have ended up on the wrong end of several tight encounters.

As a result, Leeds enter a crucial run of fixtures with little margin for error, as Farke looks to put daylight between his side and the bottom three.

A home game against strugglers West Ham follows Leeds’ trip to Burnley. Tricky away trips to Brighton and Nottingham Forest follow, who could have parted company with Ange Postecoglou by then.

With games against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool to follow, Farke has little margin for error. Although he appears secure now, if Leeds fail to pick up points in their next four games, the pressure could soon start to build again.
