Robbie Evans might have said Leeds United have maxed out their PSR position, but that doesn’t mean Daniel Farke cannot still push the transfer team for more signings in January.
Towards the end of the summer window, Leeds tried to bring in more attacking reinforcements. The likes of Harry Wilson, Facundo Buonanotte were targeted, but despite Leeds’ attempts, neither was signed.
The need for more attacking reinforcements is clear. Leeds’ willingness to go beyond the PSR line is also clear, with Leeds willing to try and sign Wilson and Buonanotte. Reports say Leeds are lining up targets.
Lorenzo Pellegrini and Piotr Zielinski have been linked with a move to Elland Road. However, another name, more familiar to Leeds supporters, has been touted as a possible target in the last couple of weeks.

Sean Dyche rubbishes Leeds’ chances of signing Chris Wood
Graeme Bailey has informed LeedsUnited.News that Leeds are keeping tabs on Chris Wood’s situation at Nottingham Forest. Ange Postecoglou is in charge, but after seven winless games, he is under pressure.
Postecoglou has used Igor Jesus more since arriving. Jesus was actually linked with Leeds in the summer, and the belief is that Wood is not the kind of striker that Postecoglou would like to lead his attack.
That has given Leeds confidence in a possible deal in January. But new reports could put an end to Leeds’ chances of a reunion for Wood, and that is because Sean Dyche could replace Postecoglou.

Wood played for almost five years under Dyche at Burnley before leaving in January 2021 for Newcastle. Dyche left six months later, and if the latter replaces Postecoglou, he will surely look to keep Wood.
What Sean Dyche has said about Chris Wood in the past
Wood remains a well-liked figure among Leeds supporters, with the New Zealand skipper scoring 30 goals in his final season at Elland Road as Garry Monk’s side came within an inch of a play-off place.
But of course, Wood’s best form has come since leaving Leeds. His form at Burnley was excellent, his goals at Forest quite remarkable. Dyche heaped praise on Wood after Forest beat Everton in 2024.

“(It was a) good finish. I thought he was excellent today, doing all the hard yards. Not touching the ball very often, but doing everything he needs to to be a handful. He was the difference in my opinion today.”
Dyche’s verdict on Wood after his goal in that game last season is exactly why he’d want to keep him at The City Ground. But it all hinges on Evangelos Marinakis, and whether he does sack Postecoglou.
