In terms of Daniel Farke’s starting line-up, centre-back is probably the strongest position on the pitch for Leeds United with Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk excelling in the middle of the defence.
The duo have started together in 23 of Leeds’ 24 matches, with Struijk absent for the 4-0 win over Oxford United. Leeds‘ defensive record is excellent, conceding only 15 goals and keeping a huge 14 clean sheets.
While Illan Meslier has had his moments, the form of Rodon and Struijk in front of him has been superb. However, there is a lack of cover at centre-back and with the January window open, Leeds may address it.
Especially, with Max Wober being linked away. Salzburg may try to sign Wober on a “clever loan” deal, while Premier League outfit Wolves have been touted with a move to sign Wober from Leeds in January.

Wolves now join Leeds in race for Glen Kamara’s teammate
Leeds then, could do with a centre-back this month. One defender Leeds have been linked with is Rennes defender Christopher Wooh. Reports from France say Leeds have now made an enquiry to sign Wooh.
The report states that Rennes are trying to raise funds in order to provide Jorge Sampaoli with some cash to spend, and would be willing to sell Cameroon defender Wooh for a fee of £5.8m in the coming weeks.
However, it appears Leeds are not the only club tracking Glen Kamara’s teammate. Indeed, Give Me Sport say Wolves are not only in the mix to sign Wober, but that they could also beat Leeds and land Wooh.

Leeds would be signing a bargain in Wooh for just £5.8m
There is no doubting Wooh’s credentials. Rennes bought the defender for £8.3m back in the summer of 2022 and he has gone on to play 49 times for Rennes – while also winning 16 caps with Cameroon.
Wooh has the ability and the potential to go and not only provide back-up for Rodon and Struijk, but he is able to overtake them. However, would he be willing to drop a tier and join Leeds in the next month?
If Wooh is willing to come and for a fee of £5.8m, then it makes sense to do a deal. But with Wolves now interested, Leeds might not get the chance as new Wolves boss Vitor Pereira looks to bolster his defence.
