Leeds United are supposedly interested in Hoffenheim striker Mergim Berisha, a player that two of the current Leeds squad know well having played alongside him at Red Bull Salzburg.
Daniel Farke claimed Leeds would have a quiet window but subsequent reports suggest anything but. The Whites continue to be linked with new players regularly, with Leeds now said to be eyeing four signings.
This week, two-time Germany star Mergim Berisha was linked with a move to Leeds. The Hoffenheim ace has been struggling to rediscover form after a serious knee injury, and a lack of game time since the issue.
Just one goal in 24 games since joining Hoffenheim has seen the German club decide to sanction a loan move for Berisha this month. Berisha himself has changed agents in order to try and find himself a move.
A player that is well-known to Brenden Aaronson and Max Wober, who played alongside Berisha over at Salzburg under Jesse Marsch. He has since played for Fenerbahce, Augsburg and now, Hoffenheim.

Leeds sources say links with Mergim Berisha are merely ‘rumours’
Leeds could enter the January window for a striker, with Patrick Bamford of interest to Wrexham and Genoa. Joe Gelhardt is keen on leaving Leeds meanwhile, with foreign clubs asking Leeds about Gelhardt.
If Leeds lose both, they will need replacing and Berisha is one striker linked with a move alongside other targets including Dor Turgeman and Louie Barry. The YEP have asked the club about links with Berisha.
The Evening Post report on Monday evening that Leeds have ‘dismissed’ the reports linking the club with the Hoffenheim ace, branding them rumours and speculation while maintaining a quiet window is likely.

Not the first time Leeds have done business with Hoffenheim
If Leeds do try and sign Berisha, then it would not be the first time Leeds and the German club have done business in the last few years. Of course, the Whites splashed a club-record fee to sign Georginio Rutter.
Hoffenheim received an initial £25m fee for Rutter from Leeds, with £10m more paid in add-ons. Rutter struggled initially but went on to shine for Leeds, after breaking in at Hoffenheim and been a regular.
So, would signing a player struggling to start for a side battling relegation in Germany’s top tier, unlike Rutter’s spell at Hoffenheim, improve Leeds? Probably not, given Berisha’s time at Leeds would be limited.
