Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Anton Stach, but they are waiting in the wings before going all out for their seventh addition of the summer in the form of Igor Paixao.

Stach was confirmed as a Leeds player on Tuesday morning. A deal which will cost Leeds a fee of £19.9m, more expensive than any of Leeds’ five other new signings, including fellow midfielder Sean Longstaff.

But Leeds are not done there yet. Adam Underwood is in Germany with the Leeds squad to maintain constant communication with Daniel Farke, as the duo work together to bring in the right players.

Leeds are targeting a goalkeeper, a replacement for Manor Solomon on the left wing and a starting striker. Igor Paixao seems to be the priority for Leeds at the moment, after the Brazilian’s superb 24-25.

The latest regarding Igor Paixao’s future amid Marseille talks

At the moment, it seems to be a head-to-head race between Leeds and Marseille to sign Paixao. Dutch side Feyenoord want a fee of £30m for Paixao, who had a hand in a whopping 37 goals last season.

On Monday, it was reported that Marseille were locked in talks with Feyenoord to agree a fee. Paixao is said to have agreed personal terms with Marseille, but the two clubs are struggling to agree on a price.

Marseille had tabled £24m for Paixao, but Feyenoord want £6m more than that. Now, Dutch site Voetbal International provide an update. Dutch ‘insiders’ say there is more chance Paixao remains at Feyenoord.

A final round of talks and a bid from Marseille is expected on Tuesday. If an agreement is not found, then Marseille will walk away from the negotiating table. Leeds then may take a step closer to signing Paixao.

Largie Ramazani’s thoughts on Leeds signing a new winger

As things stand, Leeds boast two left-sided wingers. Jack Harrison has returned and manager Farke has opened the door to Harrison earning his stripes at Leeds again, despite Harrison being booed by fans.

Ramazani is the other option, who showed his quality last season, but there is a question mark over whether the Belgian can be the man to start on the left side of the attack. He impressed on Saturday.

Ramazani said he relishes the competition if Leeds sign a winger for the left flank, much like Paixao: “No, I think it’s great to have some competition in the team, and then we just push every single player.”

Paixao could well be the man to come in on the left, with Leeds required to pay the second-most they ever have done on a player behind Georginio Rutter. Rodrigo is currently Leeds’ second biggest at £27m.
