Leeds United are interested in doing a deal to sign Borussia Monchengladbach and Switzerland defender Nico Elvedi in a move that would see him reunite with Daniel Farke and Max Wober.
Leeds are said to be looking at four new signings this month despite Daniel Farke constantly telling reporters that the club are expecting a quiet window. Striker, full-back, a midfielder and a centre-back.
One area could be covered by bringing in 28-year-old Elvedi from Gladbach. The Swiss star has a deal at Gladbach until June 2027 and has been key this season, with Elvedi impressing manager Gerardo Seoane.
But Gladbach are expected to cash in on a number of players in due course and Leeds are leading Wolves in the race to land Elvedi despite being in the Championship, with Farke clearly playing a crucial factor.

What Gladbach are planning to do with Leeds target Nico Elvedi
A regular in Gladbach’s side this season, Elvedi is on the verge of making the most appearances as a foreign star for the German side – and is closing in on the list of Gladbach’s top 10 appearance makers.
But German newspaper Bild state that Gladbach are preparing for an exit at centre-back. They are set to sell one of either Elvedi or Japan star Ko Itakura at the end of the season with Leeds now interested.
Reports say Farke wants Elvedi ‘now’ but with Leeds in the Championship, a deal seems unlikely. Indeed, Elvedi would rather join Leeds over Wolves but is ready to wait and see if Leeds go and get promoted.

Nico Elvedi’s stance on Gladbach exit amid Leeds United links
Elvedi would be some coup for Leeds. A player of huge experience both at club level and with his nation, Elvedi is also a player that Farke knows well – with Farke once saying Elvedi is one of Europe’s best.
At just £10m, he is a real bargain. Even if Elvedi struggled during Gladbach’s 5-1 loss to Wolfsburg on Tuesday night. The Bild report says Elvedi has dreams of a ‘move abroad’ and is eyeing that this summer.
The likelihood is that a move for Elvedi would only materialise in the summer and if Leeds can finally win promotion to the Premier League. Should they do that however, Elvedi would be a really impressive add.
