Josuha Guilavogui has represented the French national team on seven occasions in his career. But he’s played for Leeds just 10 times in the Championship in this 2024/25 season, as he enters the winter of his career.

Josuha Guilavogui was certainly brought in as pure back up in the Leeds United midfield earlier in the season. Although a well-liked player at the club, the 34-year-old is hardly even playing a bit part role under Daniel Farke.

The midfielder often finds himself playing the final minutes of games. He’s yet to start in the league but played the full game against Harrogate Town in the FA Cup earlier in January.

Since, there’s been reports of transfer interest in Guilavogui. It’s been claimed that Paris FC want to sign Guilavogui and that they could make a move for the midfielder in this January window, with the Frenchman out of contract at Elland Road at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Paris FC latest stance on Josuha Guilavogui revealed

Paris FC are pushing for promotion from the French Ligue 2 right now, currently sitting in 3rd place of the table after 19 games of the campaign. But an emerging report from the country has revealed that Guilavogui is not a priority target.

RMC Sport confirm that Paris FC have explored a possible deal for Guilavogui with the French outfit keen to make additions in the winter window. The same report even suggests that contact has been made between the club and Guilavogui.

But RMC Sport then write that Guilavogui is ‘not a priority for Paris FC’ and that the club won’t be making any panic buys in the final two weeks of the transfer window.

Daniel Farke’s stance on Josuha Guilavogui revealed

Given the fact that Guilavogui has barely played this season, and that he’s out of contract in the summer, it could make sense for all involved if the midfielder were to move on in January.

But Farke is keen to keep the veteran. It’s recently been revealed that Farke wants to keep Guilavogui at Leeds because he rates his experience in the dressing room and the fact that he can provide cover in multiple positions.

Now with Paris FC looking like they’re not pursuing a move for the Frenchman, it could see Guilavogui remain at Elland Road for what promises to be a testing second half of the Championship season.
