Gustavo Hamer remains and will remain a concrete target this transfer window for Leeds United.

The Whites could pinch Hamer off their rivals Sheffield United this summer with major interest in the midfielder.

It’s been claimed that Sheffield chiefs are resigned to losing Hamer, ultimately confirming his departure this summer.

Leeds won’t be the only club chasing his signature though, as Everton remain an ever-constant subject in this transfer battle.

Now, an update has emerged on Chris Wilder’s future, which could bode very well for Daniel Farke.

Sheffield United plotting to sack Leeds United rival Chris Wilder

With Leeds, Burnley, and Sunderland being confirmed as the three teams coming up this year, the Blades were the team to miss out.

Wilder’s side, who came so close, will be playing in the Championship again next campaign, but the Sheffield boss might not be involved at all.

The Telegraph are reporting that the Blades hierarchy plan to sack Wilder after the failure to achieve promotion.

Leeds fans might have slight sympathy despite the Blades boss being a big rival, and it seems as though Wilder’s mind games have come back to bite him.

With Wilder potentially out of the equation, this now gives Leeds every right to move in for Hamer this window.

Hamer’s relationship with Wilder gives Leeds a major chance

There’s no denying that, despite the bad blood between the Whites and Wilder that it was a highly impressive season from both sides.

In a different season, it could’ve been the Blades who achieved promotion, but it was Leeds who prevailed and deservedly so.

When it came to the breaking point of the season though, it was Wilder who lost his head, and Farke thrived under the pressure.

Interest in Hamer now might skyrocket with Wilder’s exit, as the Blades boss has the ball in his court in terms of the Dutchman’s future.

Hamer has a close bond with Wilder due to his commitment to staying on at Bramall Lane last season, but with Wilder gone, Sheffield might have to let Hamer go, as Wilder hinted at a difficult summer.

Despite Hamer being in no rush for an exit, the choice might now be out of his hands as Wilder packs his bags.
