It seems like Chris Wilder has some obsession with Leeds United, and even after already playing them twice this season, he can’t stop talking about Daniel Farke’s side.
The promotion race seems to be going down to the wire, as the Farke and Wilder rivalry is still at large.
Sheffield United remain just behind Leeds, so everything is in the Whites’ hands, but the Blades will have to worry about Burnley, who sit behind them.
It seems like Sheffield are stumbling when Leeds aren’t, as the Blades dropped points midweek to Bristol City at home, with Wilder furious with his Sheffield United team.
Ahead of their Steel City Derby on Sunday, you’d expect the talk to be about Sheffield Wednesday, but Wilder just couldn’t help but get a Leeds comment in there.

Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder sends a subtle dig to Leeds United
The mind games have been a consistent factor both this season and last for the Blades manager as Leeds fans have called Wilder’s comments ‘nonsense’.
His recent suggestion will certainly leave the Whites faithful feeling the same, as Wilder has done it again at such a crucial point of the season.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Wilder hindered to how Leeds didn’t get promoted last season despite a high points tally.
“We’re sat on 79 points with 9 games to go, we’re disappointed we’re not sat on 81 points after Tuesday night,” Wilder said.
“We went up in 18/19 with 89 points, and people talk about Leeds United not going up with 90 points (last season).
“We’re in a fabulous position, and the reason we’re in a fabulous position is everyone has bought into what I’m trying to give them and what the coaches are trying to give them.”
Wilder will keep talking about Leeds until promotion race is over
Unfortunately, Leeds fans, this will remain a talking point for Wilder now, and many fans will just know this is what he does.
Of course, Farke won’t let his comments get into his head, and even in defeat, Wilder has called Leeds fans quiet, showing he can get subtle digs in at any opportunity.
This comment may hint at how close the promotion race is and has compared it to how Leeds missed out despite last season’s impressive tally.
However this time, it’s in Leeds’ hands, and Farke will no doubt want to learn from his mistakes.
