Georginio Rutter has continued to impress since leaving Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Daniel Farke will doubt miss the Frenchman, but it was always going to prove to be hard to keep hold of the forward.

Rutter seems like a favourite around Brighton, and his transfer fee of £40m is certainly proving to be worth every penny for the Seagulls.

It’s clear that the 22-year-old still holds a special place for the Whites as Rutter celebrated with a Leeds salute vs Southampton, which will have pleased Whites fans.

Now, what Rutter has done in the Premier League shows exactly why Farke will be missing the forward.

Former Leeds United star Georginio Rutter is Premier League’s best at something

Rutter could attract interest in the summer after eight goal involvements and consistent performances under Fabian Hurzeler.

With the 22-year-old only leaving Elland Road recently, Coventry included Rutter on the teamsheet vs Leeds, and fans will wish that was true.

Nevertheless, his £40m fee might have contributed to Farke’s side gaining promotion back to the Premier League as Leeds could meet with their former player next season.

He’s been an inspired signing in the Premier League, which Leeds fans would have expected, but this impressive statistic shows that Brighton have a gem.

A stat that has emerged from PFF FC shows that Rutter has been the most two-footed player in the Premier League this season 58% of his passes, crosses, shots, and clearances are with his left foot, and 42% with his right foot.

This means that 210 events have come from his left and 149 from the Frenchman’s right, making for a rare option to have in the top flight.

Leeds should’ve handled Rutter’s £40m release clause better

The £40m fee at the time might have looked like solid value for money considering he was at Leeds for just one season.

But Leeds paid £35m for Rutter, only gaining £5m from the deal in what is surely a blunder from the 49ers.

His status in the Premier League now shows the Whites should’ve doubled his release clause, giving them more chance to keep him but, on the other hand, gaining much more profit.

Despite the fee, the Brighton forward has proven people wrong as Danny Murphy claimed Rutter was ‘inconsistent’.

It’s unknown what’s next for Rutter, but the fee Brighton received for him should’ve been what Leeds sold him for in the first place.
