Leeds United have a somewhat forgotten Wolves player on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window. But already the move seems to be in doubt.
Leeds United look as though they could raid the Premier League for new signings this summer, following their promotion from the Championship under Daniel Farke.
The Whites have a long list of players they could snap up this summer and a few key positions that they look set to bolster: particularly at full-back with Junior Firpo looking set to leave Leeds United.
One name linked is Kyle Walker-Peters. Leeds United want to sign Walker-Peters on a free transfer ahead of his Southampton contract expiry, but they face competition from the likes of West Ham and Spurs.
Another name linked is Wolves’ left-back Hugo Bueno. The Spaniard is currently on loan at Feyenoord where he’s been impressing, and the Dutch giants are doing their best to secure his services for at least another year.

Feyenoord doing everything they can to sign Hugo Bueno this summer
The Eredivisie campaign has just ended. Robin van Persie’s Feyenoord finished in 3rd place and Bueno is returning to Wolves with 20 Dutch top flight appearances to his name, and three assists.
Already, it’s been suggested that van Persie is desperate to keep Bueno for next season. And Dutch pundit Martijn Krabbendam has now echoed those claims, stating that Feyenoord are ‘doing everything they can’ to sign Bueno again this summer, either on loan or permanently from Wolves.
Krabbendam said on the Dick Voormekaar Podcast Extra: “He’s [Bueno] leaving now, but I think he’ll come back. They’re doing everything they can to rent him for another year or buy him. That is also not seen as impossible from the Bueno camp.”
Bueno has been described as a ‘supreme’ player by PSV no.2 Theo Lucius.
What is the latest on Junior Firpo’s future at Leeds United?
Leeds United announced their retained list a few days ago. It revealed that the club remain in talks with Firpo over a new deal but it seems as though he’s really weighing up his next move, with rumours of offers from across Europe.
The latest is that Barcelona are considering re-signing Firpo following his £13million move from the Nou Camp to Elland Road in 2021, with Lazio, AC Milan, and Atletico Madrid also potential options for the Dominican.
There’s also widespread Premier League interest in Firpo with the likes of Crystal Palace and Everton thought to be among the teams interested.
Either way, Firpo staying at Leeds United remains very much up in the air, if not incredibly doubtful, and so a move for Bueno could take real precedence for Leeds United in the coming weeks.
